In a couple weeks Fred will attend his commencement ceremony that sees the end of his years at medical school and the end of this family's time in Washington, D.C. We remember when Fred was a single guy applying for school. He stayed at our house when he came to D.C. for his interview-- a lot of students stayed with us, but Fred (and Jari and Charlotte and they came into the picture) became family. Which for us, makes this ending a little sad. But commencements mark beginnings too, and we're excited to see Dr. Nielson and family take the next big move. There are somethings that thousands of miles don't really separate. We'll see you down the road, Nielson's.
