That Little Red Riding-hood--Salmon Creek Trail; Vancouver, WA

This spunky bundle of personality turned four years old!  And at our house, that means a four-year-old-fairytale-birthday-photo-shoot.   And the last one of them all!  The tradition started when Ashlynn turned four and we did

Then when Gwen turned four it was

For Savannah we did Little Red Riding-hood, or as she says "Yiddo Hed Hidy Hood."  There are so many things that made this shoot special to me: baskets from my mother-in-law, a hood and apron made by mom which my girls have played with for years, another hood that came to us as a hand-me-down from dear, dear friend, linens from my great aunt, a quilt my grandmother made me when I was a little girl--all precious details to me.  Also, since we made a trip up to Washington the week before Savannah's birthday, we were able to rope many of our Brewer cousins into the craziness, and it was so fun to have that time with my nieces and nephews.  Most of all, this girl made it special.  She's a one-of-a-kind adventurer with a contagious smile, bubbly enthusiasm, a teasing sense of humor, and the warmest affections.  In the picture below she's in the middle of telling me "I love you Mom; you're the best mom in the world!"  Love you too, Little Red.

This guy was such a good sport.  He wore the clothes, he sat on the log, he held the ax.  And then he looked at me with a long suffering "Why??" expression as I tried to get his picture.  I always regret when we can't catch the cutest smile in the world, but he's pretty cute anyway.  : )

Just a manly little Jack with his lumber . . .

And this girls was so precious with her wild flower . . .

I love this wolf-y little gentleman.

And here's one wolf I'd love to meet in the woods!

Love that "tough guy" look!

This girl took her role very seriously.

They're GOOD.

How happy it makes me to see friends from Florida here in Utah!  This family has had a profound effect on our little family--we're grateful for their friendship, examples, service, and poppin' personality!
